Week 10 again delivered, with a huge upset for the Buffalo Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' saying that draws so many people into the NFL
This outcome may have opened things up for the New England Patriots to move back into a leading position they formerly held, with a schedule that gives them an advantage over their eight and two rivals
Meanwhile in the NFC the Seahawks and Rams had ideal outcomes to arrange a monster clash in week 11, while our player of the week is pursuing milestones as well as the MVP award
Analysis - Just a Bad Day for Buffalo?
Could it simply have been an emotional letdown from defeating Kansas City last week or something more? That's the question for the Bills to address
The Buffalo squad had won seven in a row against the Dolphins but were second best from the start as the Dolphins emerged as 30-13 winners in an eye-opening result - and display
MVP Josh Allen only achieved the team's opening first down in the third quarter and first points in the final quarter - admittedly Miami had ten days to prepare but it was nonetheless a massive egg laid by one of the league's best offenses
Tua Tagovailoa passed for two touchdowns but rusher De'Von Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 combined yards and two touchdowns
Containing the NFL's top running game was also key, with James Cook and company registering just 86 yards, their lowest of the year and just over half their 161.5 yard average
Additionally there were the three critical ball losses, and the two from Allen in particular. An interception in the scoring area meaning a nine minute possession yielded no points, and his final quarter fumble that Miami turned into seven points just later
It was classic 'previous Bills teams' as they hurt themselves in the foot, getting into a deficit on defensive side and Allen trying to overcompensate to rescue his squad out of it - not the calm, disciplined, balanced Buffalo team we've seen this season
The Dolphins have served up a bit of everything this season so the jury's out on if this is the start of something, but for the Bills they'll require an immediate bounce-back in a tough game against the Buccaneers next week as the Patriots are sneaking into a comfortable advantage at the summit of the AFC East
Spotlight - Patriots See Path to Surprise Top Seed
Regarding the New England, they're among three 8-2 squads in the league, all American Football Conference sides, but could they be the top team?
One could find flaws in New England, Denver and the Colts actually for dominating the lesser sides, with only five of their combined twenty-four victories achieved against opponents with a winning record - and one example was the Colts beating the Broncos
The Broncos beat the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are kings of the fourth-quarter while Indianapolis can ride Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's win in Tampa to their primtime success in Buffalo seems like a declaration
Their two defeats came in recently appointed coach Vrabel's initial three games, with seven straight wins, just like Denver, since then - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a bye to get ready was significant
Drake Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials won't go away, and he definitely earns credit for bravery after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa Bay but hanging in there to guide his team to success
The defensive unit is reliable and first-year running back TreVeyon Henderson exploded on game day with 147 yards and two exciting scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - establishing himself as just the fifth runner to exceed 22mph this year on his initial touchdown
Although you can argue who 'the best' is statistically, the Pats should be favourites to finish with the best record thanks to their schedule - which features just one game against a winning team, albeit a significant contest against Buffalo
Traveling to the Ravens is also tough, but the Broncos have it more difficult in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to play twice, the Los Angeles Chargers (who might also compete for top seed but face the same problem) and additionally the Packers on the schedule
The Colts also play the Chiefs, and have the Seattle, San Francisco and two matchups with the five and four Jacksonville to face. There is a considerable distance to travel but the door is open for a surprise number one position in the AFC
Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Set for Week 11 Clash
Both squads with solid claims to be better than all of the three different eight and two sides are National Football Conference West opponents the Seattle and Rams, who each put up forty points to go to seven and two ahead of next week's major meeting between the pair in Los Angeles
They've both secured four victories in a consecutive games, have signal callers in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold performing at an high standard (although Darnold had turnover issues on game day) with top receivers, and defensive units allowing fewer than twenty points a contest
Both could easily be without a loss as well - particularly the Rams as their two defeats came in overtime against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philly when they had a potentially winning field goal with the last kick blocked and run back by the Eagles for a touchdown
The Seahawks were also defeated to San Francisco, with a last-minute score in week one, before falling to the last kick of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they are genuinely among the top teams in the league
The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year so far
Top Performer - Jonathan Taylor
Jonathan Taylor might be on for a historic year after his incredible display in Berlin - rushing for 244 rushing yards, scoring three scores and contributing an additional 42 {receiving yards
