Pat Bamford Signs With Sheffield United After Initiating Abusive Chants About Manager Chris Wilder

Patrick Bamford has joined the Championship side only seven months after leading disrespectful taunts aimed at the team's coach, Chris Wilder.

The 32-year-old forward, without a club since leaving Leeds, has signed a contract joining the Championship club in difficulty through the winter. His seven-year career with Leeds finished amicably this past summer.

Among the player's last memorable actions while at Leeds was to lead offensive chants regarding Wilder during Leeds' promotion party this spring. Currently, the former England player is set to play for Wilder as the Blades’ manager seeks to rescue his beloved club away from the relegation zone.

Previous History Involving the Striker and Wilder

The pair had a past before Leeds earned promotion to the Premier League last season while Sheffield United lost the playoff final by Sunderland. The manager called Bamford as a "muppet" back when the roles were reversed during the 2018-19 season and Sheffield United secured automatic promotion whereas Leeds United fell short in the playoffs.

Reconciliation & Moving Forward

All appears to have been forgiven and forgotten with United, the league's lowest scorers, urgently requiring of a boost up front while Bamford looking to revive his playing days.

The song about Wilder went viral in April. A repentant Bamford along with Leeds boss, Farke, phoned Wilder the next day.

Wilder commented back then: “Spoke with Patrick yesterday and I’ve no issue whatsoever with that. I'm uncertain about the words used from a fellow professional! But I valued and admired him calling me.

“We had a short while and the same again I talked with Daniel as well and had a half-hour chat together and he's a super guy, a class act. When I was playing we used to dish it out and accept it and that is an integral part of football at every level, including a Sunday morning. I've got absolutely no issue. I'm fine with the situation and I told him that to Patrick.”

Recent Playing Challenges

The forward made 18 appearances for Leeds last season however the ex- Nottingham Forest, Chelsea & Middlesbrough striker has struggled with fitness issues over the past few seasons.
