On Monday, Leicester Crown Court heard phone records and data retrieved from phones documented Ms Wandelt persistently demanding Madeleine's mother for a biological test over 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - when she was three years old during a trip in Portugal - is among the most covered child disappearance cases and remains unsolved.

'I Don't Want Money'

A separate voicemail, presented in court, captured Ms Wandelt declaring: "I know I'm overweight and plain like Madeleine had been, but I believe what I know."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's recording expressed: "Suppose there is a tiny probability that I am Madeleine? What then? Isn't that significant for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I possess a life here in Poland, I simply desire to understand," the recording stated.

The jury was informed that via emails, text messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt requested a biological test, sent youth pictures to her phone in a effort to display a similarity to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and claimed to have "flashbacks" from a youth with the McCanns.

An intelligence analyst, an investigator with Leicestershire Police who collated the data, informed the court there "didn't appear to be any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt furthermore contacted acquaintances of the McCanns, as per the communication logs.

On 9 October 2024, Mr McCann responded to a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "a wrong number."

That day Ms Wandelt deposited a recording on Mrs McCann's voicemail saying "I will persist and I will prove my point."

The court was informed the co-defendant established a relationship via internet with Ms Wandelt preceding assisting her on a visit to the McCanns' property in that area in December 2024.

Phone records demonstrated Mrs Spragg had reached out via communication app to Mrs McCann to express the news outlets had depicted Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she should be considered genuine in the period leading up to the trip to the village, that area, in that winter.

The court heard message exchanges between the two individuals, in that autumn, discussing endeavoring to get Mrs McCann's genetic material from her bins or from cutlery at a eating establishment.

"We must assert ourselves," the co-defendant told Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the trip to their residence, Mrs Spragg dispatched a message which stated: "We find ourselves positioned outside the McCanns' house with our lights out like detectives. I desired to accomplish this with someone else I didn't imagine I would be involved in this with the McCanns."

The proceedings ongoing.
